MANIFEST presents ARCHAIC REVIVAL w/ MINNESOTA + SUGARPILL

Feb. 25 - 26, 2012

Time: 10:00pm — 2:00am
Location: Sonar, Baltimore, MD
Minnesota

Brought to you By: Manifest.

To better understand this New Age, Terrance McKenna urged his readers to find resolution in what he deemed the "Archaic Revival", a modern period infused by the magic of the past. Concepts of Shamanism, key psychedelic experiences and the return of the goddess create a foundation of understanding that has been forgotten over time. McKenna calls upon the ancient beliefs of mysticism, supernaturalism, healing and meditation to ask- "What prevents us from practicing these methods today?" Dig deeper inside yourself for the answer. So many spirits exist within to guide you to your dreams, use them.

Please join us SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 25TH in the MAIN ROOM OF SONAR for an evening of live art, dance education, video projection, bubbles, lasers and AN AMAZING MUSIC LINEUP!

▲MINNESOTA (soundcloud.com/minnesota)

Minnesota tracks are heard in dubstep/glitch sets all over the world, including those from DJs Reid Speed, Blackheart, and Rastatronics, to name a few. His latest and greatest remix of “California Dreamin’” by the Mamas & the Papas has been getting tons of play — most notably by dubstep trailblazer Bassnectar a.k.a. Lorin Ashton, on his current U.S. tour. “Quickly becoming a staple in my sets,” Ashton said about Minnesota track “Push It,” which has hit #24 on the Beatport.com dubstep charts, and is still climbing. “Perfect for when I need a track that is epic and churning but also melodically hype." He has opened for a wide range of acts, from Flying Lotus to Ghostland Observatory, Rusko to Benny Benassi, RJD2 to Excision, and many more. Most recently Bauhofer could be spotted holding his own at San Francisco’s first dubstep massive — Vital SC’s Wobbleland show, featuring Nero, Skrillex, Jakwob, Kastle, 12th Planet, and Datsik.

▲SUGARPILL (soundcloud.com/sugarpill)

Specializing in bouncing bass, sideways beats and sweet melodies, Sugarpill is a master of both the creation and delivery of polytemponic glitch bass. Residing in Los Angeles yet living in a twisted world of sound, this young artist stays dosed to the eyelids in chopped-up samples, meticulously tweaked beats and obese waves of bass. Sugarpill seamlessly merges his techy sensibility and immaculate production skills without ever losing the inherent sexiness of the beats, and this multidimensional musical approach unites EDM fans across a vast spectrum of genres. His original tracks combined with explosive live sets confirm for the producer a powerful spot at the forefront of West Coast future sound. Crossing genres effortlessly and employing a rich variety of styles, his lively and intense sound is best described as a party- and that is exactly what Sugarpill brings to the dance floor.

▲SPACE JESUS ( soundcloud.com/spacejesus)

Philly based EDM producer Jasha Tull has created an ever expanding and mind melting experience as Space Jesus. Exploring a multitude of EDM stylings and effectively branding each track with his own bass fueled, psychedelic, Hip-Hop flavor, Space Jesus delivers music that is undeniably fresh and consistently captivating. Jasha began producing music at age 16 with an initial focus on Hip-Hop, that eventually led to his fascination with the production of future-bass music. In 2011, Jasha released SPACE JESUS EP, which immediately brought him an incredible amount of followers throughout the East Coast. Quickly gaining recognition for his individuality, creativity, and high-energy live show, Space Jesus has been popping up all over the states, sharing the stage with incredible acts such as Conspirator, Two Fresh, Minnesota, The Polish Ambassador and Bluetech. Space Jesus has instantly become a mainstay of the electronic music festival scene, with appearances at The Magnetic Gathering and The Big Up in 2011. Hustlin' hard into the new year, Space Jesus shown no signs of slowing down. Keep your eyes peeled, or keep 'em shut, either way you're bound to see Space Jesus tear a wormhole right through the 2012 festival season.
