We thought it would be fitting to transmit all the upcoming shows (that we like) each month so you have a better idea of where the party will be, besides in my pants. Most of the events we're mentioning are thrown in the Mid-Atlantic region and host EDM music of some type.

I’ll blog about some strictly dance related events and other workshops as well, but if you know about a dope event on the horizon send me the link at transmit@darkmattersquad.com and we will check it out.  Doesn't matter if its here or there, as long as it's somewhere.

Electric Zoo Festival

Friday September 2nd - Sunday September 4th

Where: Randalls Island Park, New York, NY

Event Info: www.madeevent.com/ElectricZoo/

Although this festival has a pretty epic lineup for Labor Day weekend: Moby, Diplo, Rusko, Carl Cox, Chromeo, Bloody Beetroots, and a shitload more, I have my reservations attending it due to feedback from last years attendees. ‘The Bigger The Better’ doesn’t always apply, however each year DEMF and Starscape seem to grow in size and end up as a hit or miss. Great music nonetheless. Roll the dice and travel safe!

Dub Nation Vol 30

Dub Nation

Friday September 9th

Where: Bourbon St, Baltimore, MD

Event Info: Click Here for Event Info

This is the last party at Bourbon St. Lineup includes DSLboy, Smash, Datsik, Bare & more. I’m rolling out to this and hopefully some of the crew does to, and you, boo. Wooo, yoo hoo!

Big Dub Candy Mountain

Big Dub Candy MountainThursday September 15th - Sunday September 18th

Where: Artemas, PA

Event Info: Click Here for Event Info

3 days and 3k ravers of camping mayhem. The whole squad will be in attendance for this including a showcase Friday evening and a workshop Saturday afternoon. We’ll be giving out free vitaminwater all weekend as well. It’s our first time to this party but we’ve heard great things about it. Big ups to B.A.D.A.S.S. Raves for throwing the jam.

4 Hours of Funk

Four Hours of FunkFriday September 16th

Where: The Wind Up Space, Baltimore, MD

Event Information: 4hoursofunk.blogspot.com/

4 Hours of Funk is known as the ‘the best party in Baltimore you don’t know about.’ Dj Fleg and friends spin a great collection of Funk, Electro, Disco, House and Soul. Expect to see some of the areas best bboys, poppers, lockers and other soul dancers get rowdy on the floor in a Baltimore style melting pop. Even John Waters stopped in one time.

Laidback Luke (Bassdrop Vol 3)

Laidback LukeSaturday September 17th

Soundstage, Baltimore, MD

Event Info: Click Here for Event Information

If your not headed to Big Dub Candy Mountain this weekend you can check out Luke at this new venue called SoundStage. I’ll make it there soon enough to see what all the fuss is about. Luke is dopesauce!

Shakedown

ShakedownFriday, September 23rd

The Barbary, Philadelphia

Event Info: Click Here for Event Information

Each month Worship Records throws the Shakedown. One of Philidelphia's best and longest running house music events. Shakedown has had a few homes through Philadelphia and is currently posted up at the Barbery. The Barbary affords plenty of dance space, a second floor to lounge out in and stiff drinks.  If you want to dance your ass off and enjoy a musically educated 21+ crowd, this is the spot to be.

Be sure to join the Shakedown Facebook group to see who this month's headliner will be. But believe you me, even their resident nights will have you pouring sweat out on the dance floor.

Dont believe me? Check out Photos from the event here!

Popped Music Festival

Popped Music FestivalFriday, September 23rd - Saturday, September 24th

FDR Park, Philadelphia

Event Information: poppedphiladelphia.com

OK, not entirely an electronic event, but two groups I want to bring up here. The first is Pretty Lights. If you have not had a chance to see them live, DO IT! And bring helmet for your brain, as the bass is gunna bring the rattle! Also, DJ ?uestlove. This guy has been in and around Philly for a long time and best known as the drummer for the Roots. He has also played at a long held residency called Tasty Treats at Fluid Night club in Philadelphia. Nothing says awesome like having Nirvana, Smells Like Teen Spirit dropped in the middle of an all Hip Hop/Funk night. All right, back to the festival.  There are a lot of acts to be seen at Popped, plus its outdoors in late September, a tempting combination if you ask me.

Bass Center IV

Bass CenterSaturday September 24th

DC Armory, Washington, D.C.

Event Info: Click Here for Event Information

Bassnectar and Z-Trip inside the Armory?! Anyone who partied back when Ultraworld ruled the land knows whats up with this venue. I didn’t scope Tiesto recently so this will be 10 yrs since I’ve partied at this venue. Incredible spot, highly recommended for anyone who hasn’t been.
