Axiom Event Details

Full Event Info Released!

Posted by Dark Matter Squad on November 09, 2011 | 0 Comments

Dark Matter is pleased to release the final details for Axiom: The Electronic Music Dance Conference! With only a little over 2 and half weeks to go we wanted to update you on schedule times, battle details and, for ticket holders; a secret squirrel private after-party!

Axiom is bringing in talent from different cities across the country in an effort to provide an educational experience on underground and urban dance styles such as popping, animation, house, waving, liquid, digitz (digits), finger connect and more.

We are also very excited for the first ever Digitz/Finger Tut/Connect Battle judged by Code Red (Dark Matter), Tiny Love (Liquid Lights Crew/Vibe Elements) and Ty! Expect to see some of the craziest finger manipulations out there! We can’t wait to see what everyone brings for this!

Workshop Format

The general ‘vibe’ for Axiom is an educational, learning experience that encourages conceptual exchanges among peers and presenters. The general format consists of presenters who will teach, speak and perform different styles of movement in a variety of different formats (this is not a choreography workshop).

The presenters will be there all day, so feel free to pick their brain during breaks, cyphers, etc. This is an open forum event in which we encourage dialogue and the exchange of ideas and concepts. We want EVERYONE to leave the event having learned something new.

General Housekeeping

Please be respectful of the presenters while they are speaking; we will not allow classes to be filmed with video cameras. However, cameras are permitted during the battle and any cyphers.

Brandee, the owner of Jamz Studio is being kind enough to allow us to hold Axiom at her studio. Please be mindful of the studio and throw away your trash. No food and beverages, aside form water, are allowed into the studio.

Please do not use your cell phone while classes are running. If you need to make a phone call, please step outside.

Door Prices

Any arrivals between 9:30am to 4:30pm will be charged the full door price of $30.00 or attendees must present their purchase of an advanced ticket. Additionally, we will permit non-Axiom attendees to enter the event at 4:30pm for just the battle portion at a price of $5.

If you are planning on paying at the door we strongly advise you reconsider buying your ticket online or get there early to ensure entry. We are projecting participation at this workshop will be 50+ and will refuse entry if maximum occupancy is reached.

How to Purchase Advanced Tickets
