Where's the Party At?

September 17 thru September 23, 2012

Posted by Dark Matter on September 18, 2012 | 0 Comments

We thought it would be fitting to transmit all the upcoming shows (that we like) so you have a better idea of where the party will be, besides in my pants. Most of the events we're mentioning are thrown in the Mid-Atlantic region and host EDM music of some type.

If you know about a dope event on the horizon send me the link at transmit@darkmattersquad.com and we will check it out. Doesn't matter if its here or there, as long as it's somewhere.

He has been a practitioner and competitor of the street dance style “popping” since 2000. He has had the privilege of learning under local dancer Frank “Frank Boogie” Luisi of the Boogie Brats since 2004. In 2010 Mark applied and received the Access and Career Development Grant from the Ontario Arts Council to further his training and learn from The Electric Boogaloos, the group credited as the creators of the dance style popping. The project spanned eleven days and involved eight private popping classes with three current members of the Electric Boogaloos. These three members included Timothy Solomon a.k.a. "Popin Pete", Steve Clemente a.k.a. "Mr. Wiggles", and Steven Daniels-Silva a.k.a. "Suga Pop. The training took place in Las Vegas and Los Angeles where these teachers reside. His performance work includes dancing for Much Music, Virgin Mobile and the Art Gallery of Ontario King Tut Exhibit. His most recent competitive title was from this year's Bust A Move popping 1 on 1 competition in Montreal which he also won in May of 2011. He currently teaches at the Street Dance Academy in downtown Toronto.
