Where's The Party At?

April 30th thru May 6, 2012

Posted by Dark Matter on April 30, 2012 | 0 Comments

We thought it would be fitting to transmit all the upcoming shows (that we like) so you have a better idea of where the party will be, besides in my pants. Most of the events we're mentioning are thrown in the Mid-Atlantic region and host EDM music of some type.

If you know about a dope event on the horizon send me the link at transmit@darkmattersquad.com and we will check it out. Doesn't matter if its here or there, as long as it's somewhere.

Emancipator

To some, it must seem like this young electronic producer came out of nowhere this year, but those in the know have been following Emancipator since he self-released his first album, "Soon It Will Be Cold Enough," at the age of 19 in 2006. His agile melodies layered over headnodic, immaculately-produced beats captivated fans across the internet and across the world. "Soon It Will Be Cold Enough" was picked up by Japanese super-producer Nujabes, pressed in Japan and sold 5,000 copies in the first six months. Emancipator landed a Puma sponsorship, gave an interview to Rolling Stone Japan, and even had his song "Maps" played at the Beijing Olympics.

Dabrye

Dabrye (an alias of Ann Arbor's Tadd Mullinix) is best known for creating head-nodding beats with saw-tooth bass lines and a keen eye to forward-thinking production. With support from both the hip-hop underground and the electronic music press, he has earned a place in URB's Next 100 and XLR8R's Top 100 albums, among other accolades.
