Ode to the Mixtape v.8
Dieselboy: Director's Cut 1998
"THE DIESELBOY!" How many times have I heard that shouted out by MC Messinian over a sick ass set of good ole’ (the original face melting music) Drum and Bass provided by Dieselboy. He is synonymous with drum and bass in Philadelphia and was a driving factor behind the music during its infancy in America.
A permanent fixture at Fluid Nightclub which held the longest running weekly D&B night called Platinum; he was my first real introduction to quality Drum and Bass that I liked to dance to back in the early 90’s, and have followed him ever since. This edition’s mix is from 1998 and is called Director's Cut. Since the sound of D&B has evolved so much in the last 14 years, listening to this mix really takes me back.
